Ro and Jules / Writing

Of Big Things Coming Soon

I’m pleased to announce that my second novel, Ro and Jules Across Heaven and Hell, will be released in the second quarter of 2017. All your questions are answered below!

Is the novel like your first book?
Well, it’s written in English, by me – so kind of. But not a lot. The Tuning Station will always be special to me. However, it’s emotionally draining and difficult for many to read.
The new novel is the kind of story I’d prefer to make a writing career out of.

So what’s it like, then?

A blend of urban fantasy and science fiction, this novel is a fast-paced adventure. Like the Harry Potter and Hunger Games books, it’s targeted for a Young Adult audience, but older readers will find plenty to enjoy.

I need more than that.
Think The Maze Runner meets What Dreams May Come. It’s paced a bit like the former, and like the latter, takes place in the afterlife. It’s lighter in tone than either.
Across Heaven and Hell is the first of a planned series.

Ro and Jules. That sounds like Romeo and Juliet.

Yeah, there’s a connection.

So your book is a romance?

Romeo and Juliet isn’t a romance. It’s a tragedy.

So your book is a tragedy?

Look, let’s just forget the Romeo and Juliet thing. “Ro” and “Jules” are pet names the main characters have for each other. There might be a few other thematic connections, but you’ll have to read it to find out.

Okay, I’m interested. Can you tell me more?

You can read a short synopsis and an excerpt at http://www.roandjules.com
There will be more cool stuff added there as the release date gets closer.

Second quarter of 2017 is a long time from now. Can you let me know when the book is available?

If you want an email notification, please sign up for my newsletter at http://chrisacrawford.com/mailing-list/, and you’ll receive timely updates and reminders.
I’ll most likely make an announcement on my Facebook page and via twitter, too.
Soon, there’ll even be an option to preorder the book on Amazon.
Anything else you can tell me?
I’m really excited about this series. Originating from something my oldest son said, the plot is unique; at least, I’ve never seen it done before.
I think you’ll enjoy it!
